SETRON INDIA commissions, A PSYCHO ACOUSTIC LABORATORY at All India Institute Of Speech And Hearing, Mysore , for studying the speech and hearing capabilities of special children. This lab experiment comprises of localization testing, where in different sounds are sent into different speakers at the same time, routed from the computer in the adjacent control room. The subject is sitting in the center of the circle with a PC and his responses are conveyed to the control room. The laboratory has sophisticated software to evaluate various audio parameters, as heard & spoken by these special children. SETRON provided professional AD /DA CONVERTERS from LYNX STUDIO TECHNOLOGY – USA, so as to provide 36 tracks of analog sound to the test room. The test room now has 36 nos. of GENELEC MONITORS…Model no – 8020 B supported on individual shock proof K & M stands.
Each speaker is placed in a circle , so that each speaker is separated by 10 degrees. The speakers are placed in a circle in an accurate manner, so as to provide precise source of sound to the subject, placed in the geometric center of the circle.
